NHS EYE EXAMINATION
Free NHS sight tests are available for:

Children under the age of 16

Students 16-18 and in full-time education

Adults over the age of 60

Patients diagnosed with diabetes/glaucoma
​

Patients over the age of 40 and have a family member diagnosed with glaucoma
Adults who receive the following are also entitled to free NHS sight tests:

Income Support

Income based jobseekers Allowance
​

Income-related employment and Support Allowance
​

Pension Credit guarantee credit
​

Tax Credit and are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate
​

Patients who are registered blind/partially sighted
​

Patients who have been prescribed complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher scheme
​

In addition, you may be entitled to a free NHS optical voucher which can be used towards the expenses of your glasses
